HOW TO GET YOUR FREE CREDIT REPORTS
Georgia law permits you to get two free copies of your report from each of the three main credit bureaus each year. Usually credit bureaus will get you a copy faster if you purchase one.
The easiest way to get free reports from all three bureaus is to visit https://www.annualcreditreport.com/ or call 1-877-322-8228. That service can only be used once per year. This site lets you order all three (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion at once). Warning: Do not fall for schemes that advertise on TV like "Freecreditreport.com." Those sites are not the real free site and you'll spend money you do not need to spend.
For Georgia residents to order a free report separately from each company:

- Equifax: 1-800-685-1111 (free) or www.equifax.com (charge)
- TransUnion: 1-800-888-4213 (free) or http://annualcreditreport.transunion.com/tu/disclosure/disclosure.jsp?loc=10000 (free) or www.transunion.com (charge)
Recent changes in the law also allow you to get free copies of "speciality" credit reports once a year. Here are some you may want to check:
- C.L.U.E. Personal Property and C.L.U.E. Auto: Your insurance loss information. 1-866-312-8076.
- ChoicePoint Workplace Solutions: Your employment history. 1-866-312-8075.
- Resident Data Inc. Tenant History: Your tenant history. 1-877-448-5732.
- MIB Group: Medical records and nonmedical information that affects your health, such as an adverse driving record. 617-426-3660.
- ChexSystems: Your handling of checking and savings accounts. 1-800-428-9623.
- TeleCheck: Your check-writing history. 1-800-366-2425.
